Solutions-focused research

Using industry and academic research to produce customised solutions.

Clients who seek D & G’s research services generally fit into two categories.

The first category is clients who want to implement an organisational change or improve upon a current process, and contract D & G to advise on best practices and to devise a course of action. For such projects, D & G employs a mix of secondary research— to benchmark best practices within the industry and draw from academic literature— and primary research— to examine the intricacies and capabilities of the client’s organisation and stakeholders. At the end of such projects, D & G produces customised reports and documentation that enable clients to achieve their specific goals.

The second category is clients who have already implemented a change initiative, and are seeking to assess its effectiveness. For such projects, D & G consultants conduct extensive primary research within the client organisation. This involves qualitative research to understand stakeholders’ perceptions of the new system, as well as quantitative research to analyse all relevant data and measure the initiative’s success. D & G compares this research with benchmark organisations, which allows clients to understand both their relative and absolute performance, and learn specific actions they could take to enhance the initiative’s effectiveness.
